Topology Optimization of Stiffened Steel Plate Shear Wall Based on the Bidirectional Progressive Structural Optimization Method

Many studies on structural topology optimization of steel plate shear walls have been conducted. However, research using the bidirectional evolutionary method is limited. Accordingly, this study optimized stiffening effect (SPSWs) based method. A finite element model SPSW was established Abaqus software through “sandwich” modeling An region expanded into two regions. As targets, SPSWs with different aspect ratios were selected. Elastoplastic a single-layer performed horizontal displacement cyclic loading, and distribution law obtained. The stiffeners arranged according to SPSW-A075 scheme. Monotonic reciprocating loading simulation tests unstiffened common transverse longitudinal analyze their mechanical properties. results show that layout stiffened demonstrated better seismic performance energy dissipation capacity. buckling bearing capacity increased by 2.17–2.61 times, stiffness initial improved significantly.
